SQL & PL/SQL :: Generate List Of Programs On All Channels For Specific Day?
Dec 11, 2010
I need to generate a list of the programs on all channels for a specific day showing the channel number, supplier, package, program name, rating code, and show time. This will be similar to a program guide, only not package specific. This is a date-driven report, therefore it should only display programs for a single date specified. This is what I have but I cannot get it to run.
CREATE VIEW PROG_LINEUP AS
SELECT DISTINCT S.PROGTIME AS "SHOWTIME", S.PROGNAME AS "PROGRAM TITLE",
C.CHNUM AS "CHANNEL #", SU.SUPNAME AS "SUPPLIER", R.RATING AS "RATING"
FROM SCHEDULE S, CHANNELS C, SUPPLIERS SU INNER JOIN
PROGRAM P ON P.PROGNAME = S.PROGNAME INNER JOIN
CHANNEL_PACKAGE CP ON CP.CHID = S.CHID
INNER JOIN RATING R ON R.RATINGID = P.RATINGID
WHERE S.PROGTIME = '18-DEC-10'
ORDER BY S.CHID;
We are using erwin to generate Er diagram.But with that tool unable to generate the ERD for specific object.Or suggest any other tool from which i can generate the ERD of specific object.
i.e. Lets take an example.
I have a table with one primary key and 10 foreign keys. So now if i select the main table the tool should draw the ERD based on the Constraints ('P' and 'R') so all the different table which have the relation those table should only display. Right now we are getting all the tables ERD(more than 1500 tables) which is not neccesary.
I am using PL/SQL Developer.I have two tables: A and BTable A contains serial_from and serial_to values.This is used to define the serial numbers issued to customers (i.e. the start and end range of serial numbers issued).Shown here for a client:
Table B contains the individual numbers, B.serial (within the serial_from and serial_to range) along with other data, and is only created when the serial is used by the client.
I would like to create a list of records for individual clients containing serial numbers issued but not used. i.e. they are in between the serial_from and serial_to values in Table A, but not in Table B.
How can I create a list of numbers issued, but not yet used? Because Table A contains only two values (to and from) no record exists for them, so how do I generate a list and check against it?
I have a list box from which the user can select a client's name, I want them to be able to press a button next to the box which will then open another form and display all the client's details. How do I attach a button to a list box? and how can I call another form to open on a specific record?
I am working to configure on both the nodes of RAC server, but getting error invalid username and password even password is right.. And the remote_login_passwordfile is set to exclusive.
RMAN> run { 2> ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch1 DEVICE TYPE DISK CONNECT 'sys/sys@node1'; 3> ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch2 DEVICE TYPE DISK CONNECT 'sys/sys@node2'; 4> backup datafile 1; 5> }
using target database control file instead of recovery catalog RMAN-00571: =========================================================== RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS =============== RMAN-00571: =========================================================== RMAN-12001: could not open channel ch1 RMAN-10008: could not create channel context RMAN-10003: unable to connect to target database ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
and when trying to connect with sqlplus i'm getting below error

I searched on net and found below useful information.
The size limit for PL/SQL stored database objects such as subprograms, triggers, and packages is the size of the Descriptive Intermediate Attributed Notation for Ada (DIANA) code in the shared pool in bytes. The Linux and UNIX limit on the size of the flattened DIANA/code size is 64K but the limit might be 32K on desktop platforms.
The most closely related number that a user can access is the PARSED_SIZE in the static data dictionary view *_OBJECT_SIZE. That gives the size of the DIANA in bytes as stored in the SYS.IDL_xxx$ tables. This is not the size in the shared pool. The size of the DIANA part of PL/SQL code (used during compilation) is significantly larger in the shared pool than it is in the system table.
is there any recommendation on limit of number of subprograms should exist in a package exist, If there is any guidelines/recommendation exist for these.
I'm facing a problem with the starting of java programs on my Win XP system. The startup most often takes from 5 to 60min. Only in rare cases java programs start-up normally. I've these problems with Eclipse, Nitro and ProM which are all Java-based tools.
I have used STraceNT to find the cause of my problems but I couldn't figure it out. I've attached the STraceNT log file for the execution of ProM. The program runs until the last line in the log while starting without showing up anything. After 20min suddenly the programs shows up and works as it normally does. The last line in the log where the software hangs for this long time is a call to WaitForeSingleObject. Before that it seams to allocate memory. I could see similar patterns in the executions of the other java programs, but I still can't see where the problem lies. I also tried removing the JRE and install different versions.
DECLARE CURSOR GRP IS SELECT RowNum rn, Letter_Group_ID||'-'||A_Desc AName,Letter_Group_ID FROM Hrs_Group; BEGIN Clear_list('Letter_Group_ID'); FOR I IN GRP LOOP Add_List_Element('Letter_Group_ID',I.rn,I.AName,I.Letter_Group_ID); end loop; END;

I just want to list and group all my tables that are linked together by constraints. I just want my tables to be able to be listed together as one particular database. my tables are , CUSTOMER, ORDER_INFO, ORDER_LINE, PRODUCT. They're all linked together by way of constraint and I want to list and print them all together as one DB. HOW DO I put them all in one schema and then also list them all together and print/illustrate them as one. also, I tried to import them into their own scheme but i ran into a series of probs regaurding the .dmp file being read.
I want to insert only specific number of columns into a table by using Bulk collect and Forall.
SQL> create or replace procedure bifa_proc 2 is 3 type etab is table of emp%rowtype index by binary_integer; 4 erec etab; 5 cursor c is select * from emp; 6 begin 7 open c; [code]...
Warning: Procedure created with compilation errors.
PLS-00382: expression is of wrong type PLS-00436: implementation restriction: cannot reference fields of BULK In-BIND table of records
How to insert specific number of columns without declaring multiple table type definitions for each column by using bulk collect and forall.
Can we do a specfic word count in sql. Requirement is there is a string "I am very very poor in sql" the word "very" occurs two times, so the result should be 2.
I am using oracle11g. I want to truncate subpartition on specific partion.
I have partition on statewise. Each state partion has 7 day sub partition.
For intance,
Partion TX Sub partition MON, TUE, WED, THU, FRI, SAT, SUN
Partion CA Sub partition MON, TUE, WED, THU, FRI, SAT, SUN
Partion IA Sub partition MON, TUE, WED, THU, FRI, SAT, SUN
Now i want to perform following tasks.
1. Need to truncate TUE sub partiion on TX partition. 2. Need to truncate WED sub partiion on CA partition. 3. Need to truncate SUN sub partiion on IA partition.
How do we do this?
The below statment truncate all TUE partition on all the partitions.
ALTER TABLE TRX_TABLE TRUNCATE SUBPARTITION TUE;
How do i tuncate specfic sub partition on specific partition?
I need to check if a small collection contains a specific value. I know I can use the .exist method to let me know if the nth element exists. But is there a similar syntax for checking if an actual value exists?
So the below collection has 6 values (300,301,310,320,400,410) after the cursor values are fetched. I want to use something similar to the below exists syntax in order to search the collection for a value (rather than position) within an IF statement.
The below code shows the kind of thing I want to do. Currently, unless my test value (310) is in the range 1 to 6 the test will always return FALSE. But is there a similar syntax for testing against the value?
The example I have given is a simplification of what I need. In reality there will be more than one test value... returned by another cursor.
DECLARE CURSOR c_type_id_usg IS
[Code]....
-- get the list of sms type id usg values OPEN c_type_id_usg; FETCH c_type_id_usg bulk collect into l_type_ids; CLOSE c_type_id_usg;
-- the above returns value 300,301,310,320,400,410
IF l_type_ids.exists(310) then dbms_output.put_line('I have found an entry '); else dbms_output.put_line('I have NOT found an entry ' ); end if; END;
Say, a table has existing columns of A, B, D, and E.Now I want to add a new column C. But I want this column appear between B and D. I found that the newly added column always goes to the end of the table, i.e., A, B, D, E, C, instead of, A, B, C, D, E.

i've uploaded a new RTF for Spanish but wen i login with the Spanish creds and run the program. Its not showing the changes i've chosen the right language and territory code.
i am using one stored procedure where in one variable which is declare as date value is coming like that '10-OCT-12 11.30.54 AM' and i am inserting this value in one table which has one column vdate with date datatype but it is not inserting there.
I want to start by saying I am brand new to SQL. I have an access database linked to my oracle and am trying to query a very specific set of data and I can't seem to narroe it down. I have 244,000 lines in the DB and I'm trying to find items on a specific trype of vendor agreement. I may have the same item on multiple agreements. ex 1-, 1a-, 2-,2a-,3-,3a-,4-,4a-,5-,5a-,6-,6a-,7-,7a-,8-,8a-.
I need to find a way to select just items that appear on a 4- or 4a- and no other agreement reference. The query I did so far pulls all of the 4- and 4a- agreements but will also pull items,like #233 in the example above, but not showing the 1a- agreement. I need it to overlook that item eventhough it does appear on the agreement I am looking for but also has an agreement I am not. the statement I am using right now is:
SELECT item, ven_item, ven_agrmt_ref, base_cost, vendor FROM "all items by agreement" WHERE ven_agrmt_ref >= '4' ORDER BY item
