Mar 18, 2010

In Form i have called host command to execute the batch file . But data is not loading as well as no error. Even i have batch file also in Application Server C: path .

Code i have used in Form is

HOST('C:TEST.BAT');

contents of the batch file are

C:oraclexeapporacleproduct10.2.0serverBINsqlldr.exe csd/a@iismig control=c:GL2009_TEST.ctl bad=C:GL2009_TEST.bad skip=1 log=c:gl2009_test.log

contents of the .ctl file is

REPLACE
INTO TABLE F_GL_SMRY_TEMP
FIELDS TERMINATED BY ","
(ref_id,tran_date,dr_amt,cr_amt,acct_code,sub_code,cctr_code,sundry_code,dept_code)

if i run test.bat in manual mode without Forms Application .. it works fine with no error. sqlloader is installed in application server .

Export/Import/SQL Loader :: Importing Data In A Partitioned Table

Sep 18, 2012

I have a query regarding importing data in a partitioned table. let me make myself more clear with an example:

I have 1 month table that contains 30 partitions single partition for a single day on one machine say machine A. on another machine say machine B i create the same table with the same script which is on machine A for the same table. i loaded data till 1-15th of a month in Machine A table and rest of 15 -30 Days data into table on machine B at the end i want to import the data on partitioned table on machine B that is from 15th -30th to machine A table. I just want to know whether data is properly imported or not not or i need to specify something

I take export partition wise (15 -30th) 15 partitions dumps and imported into Machine A table. Is it possible that i can import day wise partition from 15th to 30th into a partitioned table which already contains data from 1st -15th partition.

I know this is possible

Export/Import/SQL Loader :: Grants And Synonyms While Importing Through Data Pump

Jul 22, 2012

OS: RHEL
DB: 11.2.0.2

Every time i try to refresh my production DB with the a old expdp dumpfile using data pump i always face the issue of grants and creation of synonym. I would like to tell you that my DB has three schemas which have lots of dependencies among them and before refreshing them i drop the schemas and recreate the same.

Drop user user_name cascade;So i want to know, is there a script from which i can get all the grants of the DB before dropping the schemas, so that after import i can grant the same and also a query with which i will be able to get all the synonyms of the DB.

Forms :: Data Upload Using SQL Loader

Jun 8, 2011

Iam working with a form thru which I need to port nearly 7 laks of data into table. Earlier I had created a form thru which I read the data from the text file and inserting into the table. This was taking lot of time and as well after an hour or so, after porting 50k rows the program got terminated and shows an error like Network Inturpted.

So I have decided to use some other option and found that I can use either SQL Loader or external Tables. I had choosed SQL loader option and created a form along with a control file and batch file based on some forum posting.

Control File

LOAD DATA
INFILE 'D:SethuPayClock DumpCLK_050611clock_dump.txt'
INTO TABLE ARS_CLOCK_DUMP
(TDATE POSITION(01:08) DATE 'YYYYMMDD',
VER POSITION(09:10) CHAR,
EMPNO POSITION(11:15) CHAR,
TTIME POSITION(16:19) CHAR,
BRADD POSITION(21:22) CHAR
)
[code]....

With above all the form works perfectly in local system which is the development evironment and also client PC. And I was able to port those 7 laks rows in 3 miniutes. Now the real problem, If I need to move this to live application server, I had to move three files [ FMB, CTL and BAT ]. I have some problems in moving the other two files to the application server [ waiting for approval from bozz ]. And more over, I had to hard code the user id and password in the BAT file, i think which may not be a best practice and also not safe.

So I have decieded to do all from forms and found same sort of script. I took it and modified to my needs.Code from form's when button pressed which is not working

declare
usid varchar2(10):= get_application_property(username);
pwd varchar2(10):= get_application_property(password);
db varchar2(10):= get_application_property(connect_string);
msqlldr varchar2(300);
ctrl_filename varchar (300) := 'D:SethuPayModifiedFormsars_clock_dump.ctl';
data_filename varchar2(300) := 'D:oracleproduct10.2.0db_1BINabc.dat';
fname varchar2(1000);

Importing Data From Different Schema Without Duplicating Records

Apr 27, 2011

I'm trying to figure out how to import data from another schema for an oracle SQL project in an MIS Course.Each student/schema created the following tables STUDENT, FACULTY, COURSE, IS_QUALIFIED, SECTION, IS_REGISTERED. Each student was supposed to make up names and ID numbers for 20 different students, then use real university faculty, courses, and sections to populate the respective tables.

I need to import data from all of another student's tables, without duplicating any courses, faculty, etc I already have in my tables.

The other student already granted acess to her tables, so now I'm just having trouble with the insert statement. This is what I have so far for the first table.

INSERT INTO myschema.STUDENT
SELECT * FROM otherschema.STUDENT

I know i need to add a "WHERE" statement to successfully copy the other persons data into mine, without duplicating any results. This is the last part of this project and I'm having trouble finding the answer anywhere.

SQL & PL/SQL :: Importing To New Character Set And Its Affect On Encrypted Data

Nov 9, 2010

We are exporting from a 9i db to an 11g. During the migration, we are changing our character set from USASCII7 to AL32UTF8 so that the "extended" characters that our users like to put in text fields are stored and retrieved properly.

However, we've found a problem, and i'm not sure if Oracle has a method of dealing with. Searching this site and Oracle docs got me nowhere.

We store account #'s and credit card info in the DB encrypted with the dbms_obsfucation_tookit. We have an encryption key cross reference table that we use to store the key to un encrypt the data.

However, what we've found is that by importing these keys into our new character set database, the keys are no longer valid and can't be used with the DES3DECRYPT function to get the correct numbers out.

Is there a conversion utility or any tool that Oracle provides to maintain the encrypted datas "decrypt ability"? Worse comes to worse, we will have to write a script/procedure to decrypt everything on the 9i, import it to 11g, and then re-encrypt it.

Datapump - Importing With Inconsistent Table Structure

Apr 30, 2013

I am receiving two large export files from a vendor, so I have no control over the contents. I need to import these into our database. The two export files are very similar, except the one has slightly differenet columns in it. So, export file 1 may have a table:

COLUMN_A
COLUMN_B
COLUMN_C

The second file may have:

COLUMN_A
COLUMN_B
COLUMN_D

At the destination, I have a table that has:

COLUMN_A
COLUMN_B
COLUMN_C
COLUMN_D

Is there a parameter that would let me interchangably import either (or both) files into this destination table? This is my first attempt at data pump - but I know using import this has caused me issues. Not sure if the same limitations exist? Will the missing columns cause it to fail?

Server Utilities :: Exporting / Importing Partitioned Table

Sep 2, 2013

I am trying to export a partition of a table and import it to another database. I get the below error when I try to import.

ORA-14400: inserted partition key does not map to any partition

If I export the table(for that particular partition) and import the table(after dropping the table) in destination, the partitions and sub partitions are created without any problem.

The table is Range Partitioned and Sub partitioned in List. So I had to perform the below operation if I want to retain other data in the Destination table.

1. Drop the existing partition
2. Create the partition and sub partition, same as source
3. Execute imp

In fact I had to perform step#2, as if I split the partition also, the sub partition gets replicated in the new partition, which again throws the same error. Is there better way of managing the partitions and subpartition in destination with exp/imp utility, so that I need not perform step#1 and step#2 manually.
