I have oracle grid control 10.2, I want to get the list of databases and servers that was configured within the Grid, is there any query that I can use to get it from Grid database?
Any complete List iof possible Metrics from Grid Control after installarion? No User-Defined, only Standard Metrics. How can I find them, I just checked Documentation and Metalink - but no result.
Any list prepared before or can point to any "how to create".
I am having a database running in my windows 2003 server and I want to configure Enterprise manager for that database to check the resource utilization during the peak hours and also the number of transactions...
i have already give the grant option cnnect,resource to scott but it is not connecting to enter prise manager console of Oracle database 11gR1. i am getting this error while connecting "The application requires more database privileges than you have currently been granted. Click on Help to get more version specific information"
when i am giving scott the dba rights then it is connecting. but i cann't give dba rights to scott.so, how/what is the specific command to give permission scott for connecting to enter prise manager console.
We have the Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10.2.0.5. We recently upgraded our Databases from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4 and since then we are having this problem.
Whenever i click an Agent on the Grid Control it gives me this error: "Communication between the Oracle Management Service host to the Agent host is unavailable. Any functions or displayed information requiring this communication link will be unavailable. For example: deleting/configuring/adding targets, uploading metric data, or displaying Agent home page information such as Agent to Management Service Response Time (ms)."
I get the same error when i try to configure a host or a database.
My problem is i install Oracle 9i enterprise edition 9.0.1.1.1 in windows xp professional but at the time of oracle database confiuration assistent it show me following errors it show:
we have 5 database servers in different locations,
1.main database 10g(production) ip-192.1.1.1 2.standby for production 10g ip- 192.1.1.2
both are linux
3.another database 10g windows 4. another database 9i windows
both are in same location
5.new database 10g in linux ip-192.1.1.3 some other location i m having a system windows xp installed i m monitoring, all 10g by oracle enterpric manager linux os monitor by Putty software
and i m monitoring below 10g database by sqlplus. now how could i monitor all the database by oracle enterprise manager grid control installed in my system that windows OS installed.
i have change my database name successful but after that when i open my enterprise manager i can open it but i cannot do anything in enterprise manager . i cannot show any tabs there.. i have attached my this enterprise manager login page here
I am trying to restore to a backup instance on a backup server. When I try to recreate the tables I keep getting ORA-01659: unable to allocate MINEXTENTS. The tablespaces and datafiles on both servers show as the same size in OEM.
I have dropped all tables and OEM shows tablespaces are empty. Then I run a script to recreate all tables. Most of the tables don't get created because their TS is full. After the script to recreate all tables runs, the main tablespaces are full, more full than on the production machine. I have also tried ALTER TABLESPACE xxx COALESCE; on each tablespace right after dropping all tables and before recreating them to reclaim free space. Why is it full? I've only dropped and created the tables, there shouldn't be any data in them yet.
ORA-01659: unable to allocate MINEXTENTS beyond 2 in tablespace PLUS_T...The backup instance was already there, all I did was drop the tables. Here's what I ran on prod to build a script to recreate the tables on backup server. Got it off Burleson somewhere.
SELECT DBMS_METADATA.GET_DDL('TABLE',u.table_name) ||'; ' FROM USER_TABLES u;
I just want to list and group all my tables that are linked together by constraints. I just want my tables to be able to be listed together as one particular database. my tables are , CUSTOMER, ORDER_INFO, ORDER_LINE, PRODUCT. They're all linked together by way of constraint and I want to list and print them all together as one DB. HOW DO I put them all in one schema and then also list them all together and print/illustrate them as one. also, I tried to import them into their own scheme but i ran into a series of probs regaurding the .dmp file being read.
I know that truncate is a ddl operation that removes all the data from the table and set the HWM to very beginning. I am curious to know, is anyhow indexes will be affected on the issuance of truncate command or we need to rebuild the indexes after issuing truncate.
Also is there any way to know that how many rows/blocks a select statement is scanning because of the effect of HWM even the table has 0 rows.
i am using oracle 10g. is there a way to find out the over fragmented tables/indexes ,so that reorganizing or rebuilding them will improve sql performajnce?
So our situation is pretty simple. We have 3 tables.
A, B and C
the model is A->>B->>C
Currently A, B and C are range partitioned on a key created_date however it's typical that only C is every qualfied with created date. There is a foreign key from B -> A and C -> Bhave many queries where the data is identified by state that is indexed currently non partitioned on columns in A ... there are also indexes on the foreign keys that get from C -> B -> A. Again these are non partitioned indexes at this time.
It is typical that we qualifier A on either account or user or both. There are indexes (non partitioned on these) We have a problem with now because many of the queries use leading wildcards ie. account like '%ACCOUNT' etc. This often results in large full table scans. Our solution has been to remove the leading wildcard.
We are wondering how we can benefit from partitioning and or sub partitioning table A. since it's partitioned on created_date but rarely qualified by that. We are also wondering where and how we can benefit from either global partitioned index or local partitioned indexes on tables A. We suspect that the index on the foreign key from C to B could be a local partitioned index.
I have one control table as below.I want to rebuild all indexes for the tables in control table.
The control table is having the following data.
SEQ_IDTABLENAME SCHEMA_NAME 1GEDIS_ORDER_FORM_STATES ALL 2GEDIS_NOTES ALL 3GEDIS_CARD_TYPE_AUDIT APRT 4FAX_HEADER OMS
In the control_table schema_name "ALL" means this is for 30 schemas(The table is existed in 30 schemas).Except for schema_name "ALL" ,the table is existed in the particular schema(The table is existed in the only one schema).
I tried the following code it is executing for all 30 schemas(ALL).But it is not executing for specific schemas.
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE Rebuilding_index IS l_sql VARCHAR2(4000); CURSOR cur_tab_schema IS SELECT tablename,schema_name FROM control_table3;
I have tried a lot by alternate solutions like rearranging the order of tables in join and moving where conditions before but no success...Its a bottleneck and I could not have indexes on these tables in production...I want to change the approach in subquery
SELECT g.COLUMN1, g.COLUMN2, e.COLUMN3, g.COLUMN4, MIN(e.dat1) KEEP ( DENSE_RANK FIRST ORDER BY date2 Desc) * -1, min(to_char(date3,'dd-mm-yyyy')) [code]....
I have created 3 tables and some indexes, but these objects do not show up in dba_segments view. Is this a normal behaviour? Previously, with dictionary managed tablespace, I can specify the minimum extent to create, when the table/index is created. But I'm not sure how the locally managed tablespace work.
I'm using Oracle 11g R2 (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (x64), running on Windows 7.For the purpose of reproducing this issue, I have created the tablespaces as follow:
CREATE TABLESPACE CUST_DATA DATAFILE 'd:appasusoradataorcl11gr2CUST_DATA01.DBF' SIZE 512K AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 256K MAXSIZE 2000K EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL UNIFORM SIZE 256K SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT AUTO;
I have noticed that Oracle text related objects, particularily the $I tables are some of the largest objects in our database. I have been actively pursuing utilizing Oracle advanced compression in our databases for OLTP table compression and LOB object compression. I have been unable to find any documentation or notes on if it is advisable to implement either table OLTP or LOB compression for Oracle text objects.
I'm trying to install OMS on AIX and one of the prerequisites is JDK 1.6.0 SR6 but I couldn't find it in the IBM site, can some one tell me where can I download JDK 1.6.0 SR6?
I am trying to start enterprise manager without success. i used to work after installation of db 10g but do day when i run the command below it fails. also i donot see any thing useful in the logs that am being directed to directory /oracle/Ora10R2/Orahome/localhost.localdomain_dse/sysman/log
I have two databases on the same oracle 11g install. The first (ORCL) database uses the default port for EM (1158). However, I don't know what the second one uses. I go to the portlist.ini file, but it only has the entry for the default (ORCL) database.
When i run EM ,in my explorer show these SID = ORCL
instance is open agent is up but ...listener is down .my listener is active and run.... however i can connect to DataBase and execute DDL or DML transactions.How i could resolve it ?
Create small functional indexes for special cases in very large tables.
When there is a column having one values in 99% records and another values that have to be search for, it is possible to create an index using null value. Index will be small and the rebuild fast.
Example
create index vh_tst_decode_ind_if1 on vh_tst_decode_ind (decode(S,'I','I',null),style)
It is possible to do index more selective when the key is updated and there are many records to create more levels in b-tree.
create index vh_tst_decode_ind_if3 on vh_tst_decode_ind (decode(S,'I','I',null), decode(S,'I',style,null) )
To access the record can by like:
SQL> select --+ index(vh_tst_decode_ind_if3) 2 style ,count(*) 3 from vh_tst_decode_ind 4 where 5 decode(S,'I','I',null)='I' 6 group by style 7 ;
I have install oracle 11g database enterprise edition But i cannot find the Oracle Enterprise Manager after the installation. i want the gui based Oracle Enterprise Manager i have access the the web base Oracle Enterprise Manager but not the gui based.how to use and download the GUI Based Oracle Enterprise Manager ....
